After a prolonged illness, Neil Schmidt passed away peacefully at Chatham-Kent Hospice on Monday, November 2nd, 2020 at the age of 70.

Loving husband of Pat Schmidt (nee Varcoe), together since high school.

Cherished Dad to Christine and Kathy (James) Light.

Beloved Gramps to Conner and Bridgit Light.

Last surviving member of Elmer and Emmeline's children, Con (Wilma), Phyllis (late Romeo), Aneda (late Gene), Dale (Ted), Sheila (late Gilbert) and Dave (Chandra).

Will be missed by many nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.

Friends and family will received by family on Saturday, November 7th, 2020 at McKinlay Funeral Home, Chatham, from 1:00pm until 2:30pm. A funeral service for family and friends will take place following the visitation at 3pm. Please note that the Bereavement Authority of Ontario has mandated that all those attending visitations and funerals must wear a mask. Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date in Humphrey-Rosseau Union Cemetery near Parry Sound.
