Marlene Woods

Obituary of Marlene Woods

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Marlene Woods who, during the early hours on October 10, 2020, peacefully departed this life.

Born June 2, 1938 in Chatham, Marlene will now be reunited with her adored parents, the late Robert and Ines (Cady) Ball.

Loving sister to Sheila Case and the late Robert Ball.

A beloved mother to Neil (Sue) and Lisa (Wayne), her absence will leave a piece missing in her children’s hearts. Her spirit, her smile, and the memories she has given them will live on and be forever cherished.

An adored grandmother to Sarah, David, Joshua, Jessica, Gabriella, and Victoria, she will be remembered always.

Marlene’s greatest joy was her grandchildren. There is nothing she enjoyed more than spending time together, talking on the phone, and spoiling them with that very special kind of grandmother’s love.

Marlene always enjoyed having long chats with family and friends over a cup of tea. She loved tea, and she loved to talk. Marlene also took great joy in taking care of her home in Ridgetown (especially her pond), loved getting in her car and going places, and cherished her four Schnauzer dogs.

Marlene, you will be so deeply missed.

We love you more. Always.

Respecting Marlene’s wishes, a cremation has taken place.

A private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

Donations made in memory of Marlene Woods to the Canadian Cancer Society are welcomed and appreciated.
