Cornhill, Dr. James (Jim), BSC, DDS


A resident of Chatham, Jim Cornhill passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the London Health Sciences Centre - Victoria Campus on Monday, September 7, 2020 at the age of 60.

Born in Chatham, he was the son of the late James & Jean (nee Martin) Cornhill.

Dear husband of Tracy (nee Lambkin) for 32 beautiful years.           

Father of Tyler Cornhill (Shannon) and Haillie Cornhill.

Brother of Cathy Cornhill & Karen Schecter (Jack). 

Predeceased by in-laws, Margaret (nee Pryor) & Guy Lambkin and brother-in-law, Leon Lambkin. 

Survived by his sister-in-law, Loretta Preddie (Cyril).

Missed by his nieces, extended family and his Northside Dental Family. 

Jim graduated from Western University and practiced Dentistry in Chatham for over 30 years. Anyone who knew Jim knew he was a lifetime Toronto Maple Leaf fan, and followed the Tigers when they were winning. He was known to purchase Elton John tickets without Tracy knowing. Jim loved to play music loudly through the house and was a whiz at music trivia. He was a regular attendee of the Little Brown Jug in Ohio and was a member Maple City Golf Course for many years. Jim will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all those who knew him. 

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Chatham-Kent EMS, staff of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and the doctors and staff of the CCTC at Victoria Campus - London Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion, as well as the love and support of family and friends.

Visitation will take place at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St in Chatham on Friday, September 11, 2020. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, those hoping to attend the Visitation must schedule a time online at https://signup.com/go/oMPpAao or phone us at 519-351-2040. No one will be permitted at the Visitation without a scheduled time. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has mandated that everyone attending must wear a mask. 

 

A Private Family Interment is to take place in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
