Leona lived in Sudbury for most of her life. She enjoyed time with friends and family, playing dominoes and cards and was always there to share wise advice with anyone who needed it. She was a great listener, loved to read and to swim. Leona was always dressed to the nines and was the life of the party. Leona was the anchor of the family - keeping everyone connected. She was a gem, a kind hearted soul and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and to the Personal Support Workers who had assisted Leona during her time. As well as a thank you to any one who reached out to extend a helping hand, prayer or words of support to the family.

In keeping with Leona's wishes, cremation has taken place with a Private Celebration of Life to follow at a later date.

Online condolences may be left for the family and donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society through the Funeral Home website (www.mckinlayfuneralhome.com).
