Moore, Betty Jean (nee Ellis) 

A resident of Chatham, Betty Jean Moore passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Saturday, August 22, 2020.

She was the daughter of the late Lyle & Evelyn (nee Stirling) Ellis.

Dearly missed by her husband of 58 years, Patrick Moore.

Remembered always by her sons, Kevin Bradley Moore and Jason Moore.

Grandma of Max, Vinnie, Katherine, & Abigayle.

Sister of Edward Ellis (Donna), Mary Baker (Tom), David Ellis (Margaret), John Ellis (Rose), Jim Ellis, Norman Ellis (Gina), and the late Kenneth.

Sister-in-law of Eleanor Parkyn (Jim) and Marney Moore,

Predeceased by sister-in-laws, Shirley Rankin and Sheila Ellis, and brother-in-laws, Bob Moore and Elmer Moore.

Missed by many nieces and nephews.

Betty Jean was passionate about supporting World Vision children, her pets, Sam, Sandy, Midnight, Ebony, Belle and Princess and enjoyed spending time with her family. She worked for a short time with Union Gas before staying home with her two sons. Betty Jean and Patrick traveled all over North America together. She was a caregiver and devoted to volunteering at St. Paul’s Congregational.

Family to receive friends on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham. A Funeral Service to take place on Friday at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, those hoping to attend the Visitation and Funeral Service must schedule a time online at https://signup.com/go/rHDMxPp or phone us at 519-351-2040. No one will be permitted at the Visitation and Funeral Service without a scheduled time. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has mandated that everyone attending must wear a mask. With Covid-19 restrictions you likely will be seated in an overflow seat.

Burial to follow at Bethel Cemetery.
