Hewitt, James (Jim)


A resident of Chatham, Jim Hewitt passed away, with his family by his side, at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Saturday, July 25, 2020.

Predeceased by his parents, James and Edith Hewitt; brothers, Bob and Billy; sister Sandi, brother-in-law, William and sister in law, Diane. 

Jim leaves to mourn his loving children, Sue (Bryan), Karen (Mark), Dawn (Darrin), Jamie (Carolyn), Cindy (Shaphan), Victoria and Jessica; along with grandchildren, Bruce, Christina, Nicole, Ryan, Johnathan (Jay), Matthew (Taryn), Starr (Jake), Alexis, Alivia and Julian, many great-grandchildren, sister, Corinne; and brother, Thom (Stella) and brother on law, Marv and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends. 

Jim was a former member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Radar Division, where he began to learn his trade of electronics. Jim retired from the Ministry of Transportation after 25 years of Service. He had a passion for cooking, sports and working with his hands. He was always there to help with fixing things for friends and family. Jim will be forever in our hearts.

As per Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place with a Celebration of Life at a later date.
