MOIR: Barbara Dorothy - Welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, March 22nd, 2020 in her 90th year. Predeceased by her parents Proctor Dick (1994) and Lena Dick (McAdam, 1985). Survived by her loving husband Wally of 67 years; sister Elaine Thompson (Murray), brother David Dick (late Delynne),and brother-in-law Bob Jordan (late Peggy). Predeceased by sister-in-law Betty and brother-in-law Harold Mackness. Survived by her four grateful children and spouses, Alex (Linda), Mark (Lynn), Peter (Tammy) and Janet Rodger (Jim); eight blessed grandchildren, Zach, Tyler, Jodi, Jillian, Erin, Chelsea, Philip and Wyatt; and 12 great-grandchildren. Barb was a life-long resident of Chatham-Kent with memberships in I.O.D.E. (Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire), Christian Women’s Association and Chatham Baptist Church. She made the transition from “city girl” to farm wife and shared her love of needlework, knitting and music, as well as her strong faith in God, to all who crossed her path. In spite of the dementia issues which plagued her last few years, she managed to remember many quaint sayings which amused the faithful staff at Riverview Gardens and have become part of her legacy in our family. Cremation has taken place, with a memorial service to be held at a date yet to be determined. If you so desire, memorial donations can be made to Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (Barb’s faith family) or to The Alzheimer Society of Chatham Kent. Interment at McVicar Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to: McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, 519-351-2040
