Obituary of Norman Nance

A resident of Chatham, Norman Nance  passed away peacefully at his residence on September 30, 2019 at the age of 88. 

Born in Reedley, California,  Norman was the son of the late John and Daisy (Gorton) Nance. 

Dearly missed by special mate Dorothy "Dott" Bryan of Chatham.

Survived by children, Charles 'Chuck' Nance of Sparwood, BC, Cathy (Patrick) O'Brien of Prince George, BC and three step sons, Charles (Kelly) McNair of Elkford, BC, Bruce McNair of Nelson, BC, and Robert McNair of Thrombs, BC.

Sadly missed by his 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and all his friends.

For seven years, beginning in 1947, Norman rode and roped in various rodeos. He was a traditional cowboy, cattle rancher and a true rodeo man. After which  he pursued a career in the excavation business, busying himself through the winters driving transport truck. He moved from California to British Columbia in 1962. Norman was also an avid hunter who enjoyed playing pool.

For 46 years he was a proud and active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and more recently was a member of the Chatham Active Lifestyle Centre. 

Cremation has taken place.
