Latford, Douglas William

A resident of Chatham and formerly of Ingersoll, Douglas W. Latford passed away peacefully at CKHA-Chatham Campus on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the age of 86.

Born in Ingersoll, ON, Douglas was the son of the late Richard and Irene Latford.

Beloved husband of 62 years to the late Donna M. (nee Field) Latford (Jan. 2019).

Survived by son, Dennis Latford of Chatham, daughter, Deborah Eldridge (Kevin) of Chatham, grandchildren, James and Steven Eldridge, brothers, Eric Latford (Donna) of Chatham, Larry Latford (Joan) of London, sisters- in-law, Evelyn Latford of Chatham, Marilyn Field of Highgate, brothers-in-law, Gary Charbonneau of Chatham and Robert "Bob" Field (Betty) of St. Thomas.

Predeceased by sisters and brothers, Marjorie (2014) (William 2018) Holmes, Valerie Charboneau (2012), Carl Latford (2002), Dorothy (2003) (Harry 2011) DeBaets, Russell (2008), Ernie (1996) and Sylvia (2019) Field.

Fondly remembered by Frances and the late Gordon McFadden of Rodney.

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

He retired from Siemans in 1992. He loved to bowl and play cards.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on, Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 11:00 am until the Celebration of Douglas' Life at 12 p.m., with Rev. John Anderson, officiating.

Cremation has taken place and an interment will follow at Gosnell Cemetery, Highgate, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Douglas to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
