Anne & Family
Sorry we cannot be with you in person during this time of sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. When we first met in Kitchener corps in 1982 we formed a friendship and family relationship that has lasted all these years. Sharing the same grandchildren has been a great pleasure. We have so many from 1982 until 2019. God bless.

Anne and family. Our thoughts will be with you on Saturday as you say your formal goodbyes to Ian. Sorry we can’t attend the celebration as our corps band is on a trip to New Liskeard this weekend.
I am sure that though the parting is a sad time, there will be rejoicing as Ian is “Promoted to Glory”.

Of the treasures and honours of being a Christian leader Ian Tilley was certainly one of the finest we have ever known. His faith, his fun, his gentleness, his generosity, his compassion and creative wisdom stood so tall as together we made the arduous trek through the dense jungle growth of a building program. He always kept before us the vision of what we could become. If we are the sum total of the gifts of others he certainly is a gift most worthy of our undying respect and love. He made all of us love each other better. We know he has been Promoted to Glory but his presence among those who love him will be sorely missed. For Ann and the precious family thank you so much for sharing him with us those 4 years we were in Chatham.

I am very grateful to have had Mr. Tilley as someone to look up to as a role model. He was genuine, kind, funny and caring. His contagious smile was something that will never be forgotten.
I will never forget the influence he had as a natural leader, who cared about people and was not afraid to speak truth in the most loving and genuine way.
Will miss him dearly. Thank you Tilley family for being a beacon of light, hope and truth in a dark world that many find themselves in.
Love,
Nicole

Lynn and family,
Our deepest condolences on this sad occasion. Keith, Ben Patrick and I will all be thinking of you and adding you to our prayers.
I always like to think of the horizon story when a loved one dies. Although we can no longer see them, as they have crossed the horizon of our vision, on the other shore there is much celebration welcoming them home. I am sure your Dad is being celebrated right now.
Love,
Wendy

Ian was a very good bother-in-law to me. I became acquainted with Ian when he moved to Chatham with his parents circa 1952. He and my sister Ann were married in 1956. Ian was very kind to me, always included me in their activities. I even accompanied Ann and Ian on holiday excursions to Black Lake in the Muskoka area. Ian is family and will be missed very much. I send love and comforting thoughts to Ann, Mark, Lynn and Leah as well as their spouses and children. May you find comfort in wonderful memories.

To Ann and Family
Rosalie and I are saddened to hear of Ian’s Promotion to Glory but we are quick to say how pleased we are to know he is with the Lord.
Memories flood our minds when we think of our years in Chatham between 1988-1992. Stephanie and Krista were are part of these years and they share our memories or at least most of them. They would remember Ian’s laugh and his encouragement. Rosalie and I remember all the chats about things Army and the support as our CSM. These were amazing days and of course the whole Tilley clan are included as we reflect.
Words won’t fully capture our appreciation for Ian and we are so glad to have known him and counted him as a friend since first meeting in 1988.
We send our love and prayers as you sense your loss but also as you celebrate his life.
Servant of God, we’ll done.
