PROVOST: Roland J. -

A lifelong resident of Tilbury, Roland Provost passed away with his family at his side at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the age of 79.

Beloved husband of 56 years to Marion (nee Malott).

Loving father of Angela Toews (Rudy), Roland A. Provost (Lorraine 'Tuck'), Ron Provost and Heather Provost-MacDonald (Scott).

Proud Pepe of Nicole LaMarre (Kyle), Julie VanDerMolen (Mark), Brian Toews (Stacey); Roland F. Provost, Kyla Provost, Corey Provost (Desiree); Devin Tofflemire (Dillon), Holly Reaume (Jeffrey), Darion MacDonald and David MacDonald.

Great-Pepe to Koen and Hadley LaMarre; Harper and Oakley VanDerMolen; Drayden, Jenaeah-Grace and Noah Reaume.

Born in Tilbury, Roland was the son of the late Alfred and Helen (Bissonnette) Provost. Son-in-law of the late Alvin and Eliza (Turner) Malott.

Dear brother to Homer Provost (Marie), Margaret Faubert (Bill), RuthAnn Boggs (Robert), the late Alex Provost (1978) (Michelle), Roger Provost (Lynda), Janet Rivest (Marc) and Gary Provost (Debbie).

Brother-in-law to Dorinda Fleury (late Noe), Mae Buller (Doug), Gordon Malott (Ruth), Alta Smith, Alvin Malott (Rose) and John Malott.

Roland worked for Chrysler for 17 years before starting his own dealership: Provost Plymouth Chrysler in Tilbury. He then worked at the Parts Department at Canadian Tire for approximately 10 years. During his retirement years, he worked at NAPA and volunteered at Hudson Manor.

Roland was a faithful Maple Leafs and an avid Blue Jays fan. He sat on the board for Tilbury Minor Hockey and started a Senior Men's Hockey League in 1968 in which his son and grandsons still play.

In the warmer months he enjoyed going to the races or working on his 1934 Plymouth.

Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Visitation Roman Catholic Parish, 5407 Comber Sideroad, Comber at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Interment to follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Tilbury.

Guests are invited to wear their hockey jerseys for the service.

Donations made in memory of Roland to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Spinal Research Organization would be appreciated.
