A resident of Strathroy, formerly of Chatham, Murray Henderson passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Sprucedale Care Centre, Strathroy in his 97th year.
Born in Dover Township, Murray was the son of the late David & Eliza Jane (nee Bowen) Henderson.
Beloved husband of Angela Henderson (nee Polcaro) of Strathroy & the late Olive Henderson (nee Trush, 1986).
Step-father of Jerry Jakovac (Karen) of Chatham, Rosaline Malette (the late Claude) of Windsor, Irene MacEachern of Windsor, Miles Radoja (Christine) of Dundas, Cedomir Radoja (Cathy) of London, Sonja Radoja of London & Dejan Radoja (Erin) of Peterbough.
Step-grandfather & step-great-grandfather of many.
Brother of the late Margaret & the late Francis.
Always remembered by his nieces, Myrna Matack, Larraine Henderson, Linda Henderson, and nephews, Roger Rankin & Keith Rankin.
Murray served within WWII, and was believed to be one of the oldest survivors within Chatham-Kent. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 28. Murray retired after 30+ years of service with Ontario Hydro, as a Carpenter Foreman. After retirement, he spent many years tinkering in his Workshop.
Family to receive friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 12:30 pm until a Celebration of Murray's life at 1:30 pm. Burial to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
