Jenner, David Ryan O'Neil "Gunner", Cpl.


Living in Petawawa, formerly of Chatham, David Ryan O'Neil Jenner passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 16 2018 in Petawawa in his 37th year. 

David was the proud son of Linda Ann Vincent-Jenner of Chatham & the late R. Kenneth Jenner (2002). 

Loving brother of Tyrone (Kim) Jenner of Chatham, Manoah Jenner of Chatham, Tryphe-na Jenner of Windsor, the late George Warren Jenner (1980) & the late Vincent Jenner (1991).

Predeceased by his grandparents, Rev. Harold & Gertrude (nee Morton) Vincent of North Buxton and Steward & Evelyn Jenner of Charing Cross.

Always remembered by his aunts, Andrea (the late Rev. Mark Vincent) of Chatham, Faith (Eugene) Crew of Chatham, Noami (Gilbert) Brooks of Windsor and many cousins. 

David graduated from John McGregor Secondary School and worked as a floor installer after graduation. He will be remembered as a special friend to many in the KAYO Boxing Club in Chatham, where he was an assistant coach for many years. He was an excellent runner, winning many trophies and sharing his love of running with his best friend Scott Beaman. He continued his love of boxing by enrolling in the Royal Canadian Armed Forces in 2010 where he served for 6 years. He served with the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery and with the 1st & 2nd Regiment of the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, where he was coined the nickname "Gunner". He was honorably discharged and more recently, David was working as a Security Guard with Commissionaires & a Delivery Driver for Henry's TV in Petawawa and was looking forward to his return to the Armed Forces next year. 

Family to receive friends on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 2:00 - 4:00 pm & 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A Legion Service will begin at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service in memory of David will be held on Wednesday at Zion Christian Church, 820 Park Ave West, Chatham at 11:00 am.  Burial to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery. 

In memory of David, donations may be made to the London Children's Hospital or to Wheels of Hope (chqs payable to Canadian Cancer Society).
