Gartner, Peter

A resident of Chatham, Peter passed away at his home on Monday, March 19, 2018 in his 73rd year. 

Peter was the son of the late John Sr & Katarina (nee Judt) Gartner.

Loving husband of Randi Gartner (nee Whyte)

Devoted father of Christopher Gartner (Tammy), Brett Gartner (Helen), Jeffrey Hall & Kimberly Roe (Brent)

Grandfather of Jessica, Chandi, and special Papa to Jaclyn, Weston & Marisa.

Brother of MaryAn Langlois (Len) & John Gartner Jr (Doreen).

Predeceased by sister, Helma Penich (Mike).

Missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews & many wonderful friends.

Pete retired from Navistar after 31 years of service and continued to be active with his involvement with horses and the farm after retirement. He was an honored member of the "farmers table" at the local coffee shop. Pete enjoyed camping with his family & friends and loved spending time with his grandkids. He will be missed by many.

Family to receive friends on Sunday, March 25th, 2018 at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 3:00 - 5:00 pm & 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service in memory of Pete will take place at 11:00 am on Monday at the Funeral Home. Interment to take place in Arnold Cemetery.  

Donations in memory of Peter may be made to the Friends of the New Animal Shelter (cheques payable to the Municipality of CK), to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or to the United Way of Chatham-Kent.
