Prevett: Leonard Joseph Cameron. A resident of Mitchell’s Bay, Len Prevett died Saturday June 27, 2009 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 73. Born in Petrolia, son of the late William Henry & Nellie May (Newman) Prevett. Beloved husband of Henriette (Melis) Prevett. Dear father of Lisa & Douglas Ellis, Erie Beach, and Monique & Dr. Gregg Hancock, Stratford. Grandfather of Alishia Ellis, Monique Ellis, Madeline Hancock, and Andrew Hancock. Brother of the late William Richard Prevett (1993). Len was Company Commander of the Essex & Kent Scottish Regiment; a member of the Chatham Cultural Chorale; the Active Life Centre Choir; the St. Agnes Choir; the Hospitaliers; and a former Guidance Head for the Kent County Board of Education. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Monday, June 29, 2009 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The Chorale Choir will offer a musical selection at the Funeral Home on Monday at 6:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 52 Croydon Street, Chatham on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Hillsdale Cemetery, Petrolia, Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Donations in memory of Len to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.
