Andrews: Ernest “Ernie” H. A resident of Chatham, Ernie Andrews died suddenly in Columbia, Tennessee on January 29, 2008 at the age of 81. Loving husband of the late Myrna Andrews (Plaxton)(2002). Dear father to Blair Andrews and his wife Sharon. Proud grandfather to Allyson. Predeceased by his son Barry (1980). Survived by his brothers Edwin of Vancouver, Robert of Toronto as well as his sister Mabel also of Vancouver. Ernie operated E.H. Andrews Management Ltd. before his retirement in 1994. His career began in Western Canada as a sales representative, progressing to senior executive levels and eventually moving to Toronto and founding his own company serving many international clients. Ernie will also be remembered for his love of golf, curling; his years as a Scout leader, bowling, boating and the many memories he helped create at his cottage on the Kawartha Lakes. His service to the Golden Kiwanis Club will not be forgotten as well as many other volunteer positions including assisting the residents of St. Andrews Residence. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held in the Funeral Home on Friday, February 8. 2008 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. John Giurin officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorial donations to honour Ernie’s life can be made to the Foundation of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance or the Alzheimer's Society and would be appreciated by the family.
