Obituary of Lloyd Pepper

PEPPER: A resident of Raleigh Township, Lloyd Edward Pepper died peacefully at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Wednesday February 22, 2006 at the age of 80. Born in Raleigh, son of the late Hilton and Edna (Knott) Pepper. Beloved husband of Thelma (Rice) Pepper. Loving father of Brenda Wood and her husband Ed of Erie Shore, Brian Pepper and his wife Susan of Raleigh, Krista Miller and her husband Al of Belle River, Christopher Pepper and his wife Leeanne of Merlin, and the late Margaret Ann Brown (1999). Father-in-law of Gary Brown of Raleigh. Cherished grandfather of Nicole and Ryan Brown; Chad Wood; Ken, Becky, Jeremy, and Miranda Pepper; Brandon, Sean and Krystal Miller; Vanessa, Emily and Zachary Pepper. Great grandfather of Destiny and Abby. Dear brother of Verla Ritchie and her husband Art of Chatham, and the late Lyla (Coatsworth) Russell, Carl Pepper, and Earl Pepper. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Lloyd was a lifelong farmer in Raleigh. He was a member of St. Luke's United Church and served 37 years with the South Raleigh Fire Department. Member of Comet Rebekah Lodge, Merlin, Thamesville Oddfellows, Branch 465 Royal Canadian Legion, Merlin, and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Lloyd is remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Friday 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Comet Rebekah Lodge will conduct a Memorial Service Friday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Saturday February 25, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Eric Skillings of St. Luke's United Church officiating.
