Obituary of Joyce Theodora Dyer

DYER, Joyce, 90, of Chatham passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, January 15, 2018.

Joyce was born in Boston on September 5, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Vincent and Henrietta (nee Crozier) Gregory.

She is survived by her children Peter, Dianne (Tom), Wendy and Robert (Lisa).

She will be missed by her grandchildren Travis, Cameron and Julia Chase, Amy and Alison Miller, Mitchell and Laura Dyer (Jordan Hughes), Matteo Neufeld, great grandchildren Julia and Jagger, and her nephew Richard Chandler.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband Bill Dyer (1983), her loving partner Richard Chapman (2007) and her sister Shirley Chandler (2011).

Joyce grew up in Toronto where she attended Forest Hill P.S. and Bishop Cronyn H.S. Joyce had a great fondness for Muskoka where she worked as a teenager and revisited many times over the years. Joyce and Bill moved to Chatham in 1952 where they raised their family. She was an active member of the Kinette Club where she made many lifelong friends.

The Dyer family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Riverview Gardens for their excellent care over the past 5 years.

As per Joyce's wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
