Obituary of Mary Jane Ripley

RIPLEY: Mary Jane (nee Simpson) -

A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Wallaceburg, Mary Jane Ripley passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the age of 88.

Born in Wallaceburg, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Orville and Evelyn (Lucier) Simpson.

Beloved wife of 47 years to Karl (1996).

Loving mother of Daryl Bourdeau (Ron), Lynn Reeve (late Tom, 2004) and Dean Ripley (Janice) all of Chatham.

Proud Grandma of Jeff Bourdeau, Mike Bourdeau (Stephanie), Rob Reeve (Julie), Chris Reeve, Kyle Ripley (Maria) and Jacqueline Ripley.

Great-grandmother to Caitlin Mailloux (Skyler Schives) and Liam Bourdeau, Julia, Cameron and Rachael Bourdeau, Owen and Evan Reeve, Hunter and Regan Reeve. Great-great-grandmother to Lavie and Jack Schives.

Dear sister to Doris Kelly of St. Thomas and Shirley Hyatt of Wallaceburg. Predeceased by her four brothers. Sister-in-law to Bonnie Ripley (late Vern) and the late June and Dave Paddick.

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Mary Jane retired as Supervisor of the cafeteria at Chatham-Kent Secondary School. She was a member of TOPS, a founding member of the St. Agnes CWL and a longtime member of the Blessed Sacrament CWL. Mary Jane enjoyed her friendships within the CWL and her day trips throughout Ontario. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in sports.

Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Vigil Prayers will be held Wednesday at 8:00pm followed by CWL prayers. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 145 Victoria Ave, Chatham at 11:00am on Thursday, August 31, 2017 with Fr. Don Pumputis celebrant. Cremation to follow with an interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery to be held at a later date.
