Austin, Clayton Donald

Clayton passed away suddenly at his place of residence at Chartwell Tranquility Place, Brantford, ON, on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the age of 85.

He was a committed board member and volunteer at the Lighthouse Festival Theatre, Port Dover.  Clayton was a stroke survivor and an avid spokesperson and volunteer at the Rehab Stroke Unit at the Brantford General Hospital. He was an advocate and motivator for the people who didn’t have a voice. Special thanks to extended family, loyal friends and staff of the Chartwell Tranquility Place.  

Beloved and devoted husband of Barbara Jean (Brand) Austin. 

Dear father of David (Marilyn) of Chatham, Brian (Kenlyn) of Dublin, California and Kevin (Margot) of Toronto.

Sadly missed by grandchildren, Candice, Derek, Myranda (Ryan), Travis (Amaryllis) and Gillian (Chris) and great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Hannah, Nolan, Bryce, Aaron, Hunter and Grace.

Fondly remembered by his step-family Nathan (Janine), Carrie, Tyler, Jordan, Ben and Emma.

Predeceased by a brother and two sisters.  

According to Clayton's wishes cremation has taken place. Also according to his wishes, a private family memorial in celebration of his life will be scheduled for a later date. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON.
