Goldhawk, Joseph "Joe"

Joe died peacefully at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, June 28 at the age of 95.

Joe was born in Ridgetown and was the son of the late James and Ann (Eberle) Goldhawk.

Originally a Kent County farmer, he had a long and distinguished career as an electrical designer with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation firstly in Chatham and for many years out of their Downsview headquarters.

Joe and Lois raised their family in Chatham and his wish was to return home.

He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree.

Beloved husband of Lois (Reaume) Goldhawk of Burlington and formerly of Chatham.

Dear father of Michael (Kathleen) of Estero, FL, Dana (Karen) of Fonthill, and daughter Tracey (Greg) of Burlington.

Sadly missed by grandchildren, Kristine of Stamford, CT, Jaclyn of New York City, Erin (James) of Beamsville, Matthew (Shufen) of St. Catharines &  Heather, Mark, Samantha and Daniel of Burlington. A great grandson Benjamin and a great granddaughter Katelyn, held a special place in his heart.

Kind brother of Lyle (Margaret) Goldhawk of Blenheim.

Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by brothers and sisters, Frances, Mary, Ernie, Bill, Albert, Anna, Don, Eberle, and Edie.

A Memorial Service will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON,  on Saturday, July 8 at 2 p.m. with one hour visitation prior to service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Joe to the MS Society of Canada or charity of choice would be appreciated.
